The City police on Monday claimed to have arrested three target killers besides apprehending one allegedly involved in a deadly attack on Rangers' mobile in Karachi. According to police, Bilal Qureshi, alias Chingari, a notorious target killer involved in 26 target killing incidents, was arrested from Bilal Colony. SP Faisal Noor told Business Recorder that the raid was conducted on a tip-off on the presence of criminals. He said that Chingari was associated with a religious party and has killed 26 people largely from the Shia community in Karachi.
Syed Talha Hussain allegedly involved in recent attack on Rangers' mobile was also arrested by the police from the jurisdiction of Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police station. It may be recalled here that a Pakistan Rangers' vehicle was targeted in North Nazimabad Block J area on Friday, March 20, in which two paramilitary troops were killed. "The raid was conducted on the basis of intelligence reports as well as with the help of evidences collected by law- enforcement agencies from the crime scene," said an official in the Gulberg police station. Talha Hussain been moved to an undisclosed place for interrogation, he added.
Another target killer identified as Asif Rasheed aka Dumba was also apprehended by the police from the jurisdictions of Khwaja Ajmer Nagri police station. He was associated with a banned organization and has been involved in nine incidents of target killing, the police said.
Two more target killers, identified as Muhammad Salman aka Cheetah involved in 11 target killing cases and Shahjahan aka shah Nawaz, were also arrested by the police from the jurisdiction of Gulberg police station. The under arrest criminals have affiliated with a political party.
The police claimed to have arrested four extortionists and seized arms from their possession during raids on Monday.
