The patron-in-chief of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry and chief executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), S M Muneer, has said that Pakistan's exports could increase by $5 billion provided businessmen's stuck up refunds, amounting to Rs110 billion, was released by finance ministry.
Speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by Sardar Yasin Malik, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan and Khalid Tawab, he said that the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed his desire to consult Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) in preparing the federal budget, while Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif will soon have a meeting with the FPCCI members.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan emphasized the need for revamping direct and indirect taxation system for creating more jobs and providing basic amenities of life to the citizens.
Indus Hospital's chief executive Dr Abdul Bari Khan said that the Indus Hospital which was providing best possible free treatment to Karachiites will establish similar health facilities in other cities of the country.
Gulzar Firoz said that the economic policies should be reviewed and revised for giving boost to exports.
Khalid Tawab said that measures being taken by the government will help boost exports and business activities in the country. Other who spoke on the occasion included Towels Manufacturers Association's chairman Mehtabuddin Chawla and Senator Khushbakht Shujaat.
