The law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) claimed to have gunned down five alleged criminals in separate raids here on Tuesday. According to police and rescue sources, on a tip-off about presence of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan militants in the area, the police carried out an operation in Orangi Town's Toori Banghash Colony locality late on Monday night.
Police said an exchange of fire took place with alleged militants. Two alleged militants were arrested in serious injured condition. However, both of them succumbed to their injuries on way to hospital.
In another incidence, a shootout took place between police and alleged gangsters in Lyari's Kashti Chowk area. The encounter left three of the gangsters dead. The police claimed that the alleged criminals were associated with Baba Ladla group and were wanted in various cases. Their bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi CHK for post-mortem examinations.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Khan, 40, was shot dead by unknown persons in Orangi Town's Faqeer Colony in the limits if Mominabad police station. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital ASH for medico-legal formalities.
Similarly, Muhammad Nadeem son of Abdul Sattar was shot and killed by unidentified persons in Orangi Town, in the limits of Orangi Town police station. The body of the victim was shifted to ASH for autopsy.
Meanwhile, Sindh Inspector General of Police, Ghulam Haider Jamali, Additional IGP Ghulam Qadir Thebo, DIG South and other senior police officials attended funeral prayer of two police constables Awais Shah and Nadeem Ahmed at the Police Headquarters in Garden area, who were martyred by unknown armed men near Milk Market, Garden Area of the city.
