Modest recovery was seen in the value of the rupee against the dollar on the local currency market on Thursday, dealers said.
INTERBANK MARKET RATES: The rupee managed to recover 11-paisa against the dollar for buying at Rs 101.85 and it also rose by seven-paisa for selling at Rs 101.88 respectively, they said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee held the overnight levels in terms of dollar for buying and selling at Rs 102.30 and Rs 102.50 respectively, while the national currency recovered 60-paisa versus the euro for buying and selling at Rs 110.20 and Rs 110.45 respectively, they said.
In the fourth Asian trade, the dollar nursed modest losses on Thursday, having suffered a setback on fresh signs that the US economy slowed significantly in the first quarter which could delay the Federal Reserve's decision to begin hiking interest rates.
The dollar fell as far as 119.42 yen overnight, from levels above 120.00. It last fetched 119.57, down 0.2 percent on the day.
The dollar was trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 62.50, the greenback was at 3.6780 in terms of the Malaysian rinttit and the US currency was at 6.1975 versus the Chinese yuan.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee recovered its earlier loss in relation to the greenback on the local currency market on Thursday.
Currency dealers said that the dollar resumed trading on a mixed note at Rs 102.50 and 102.75 on buying and selling counters, respectively, as against same overnight rate.
During trading, the greenback lost its ground and was ended lower at Rs 102.35 and Rs 102.60 as its buying and selling rates, respectively.
On the other hand, the British pound improved its worth against the local currency. The pound was traded at Rs 150.70 and Rs 151.55 on buying and selling counters, respectively, as compared to overnight closing of Rs 150.60 and Rs 151.50, the dealers
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged on the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs 101.75 (buying) and Rs 101.85 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 101.75 (buying) and Rs 101.85 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 155 (buying) and Rs 155.50 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 155 (buying) and Rs 155.50 (selling).
