Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali has directed for tightening of police security on all highways particularly those linking the Sindh to other provinces.
Chairing a meeting Thursday to review security arrangements on eve of former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto's 38th death anniversary, he said special measures must be adopted around Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Naudero, Larkana.
As people from across the country are expected to attend the death anniversary, he said fool proof security has to be ensured in Naudero and for the purpose all the roads joining the town to main highways must be specifically guarded.
The IGP said different ranges of the police must develop close co-ordination to make security absolutely fool proof through efficient patrolling, picketing and random snap checking.
These exercises must be expedited and should also be complimented through intelligence collection and sharing facilitating timely as well as effective police action to avert any unfortunate incident, said the police chief.
He during the meeting also instructed all DIGs to immediately form teams under the supervision of SSPs of concerned areas to streamline the exercise with provision for regular briefings to the concerned authorities.
