A delegation of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation officers visited the Lahore Stock Exchange under the Consumers Outreach Program. A session of Investors' Awareness Program was held with the visiting delegation on the occasion. An insight into the savings, financial literacy skills, role of capital markets, their functioning and economic usefulness to the citizens were provided with under the program.
They were also informed about the grievance redressal and investors' protection measures available in the financial markets.
While addressing the session, Gitee Bhatti, Deputy Secretary, IPF of LSE delivered a presentation informing of the various investment instruments available in the capital market of Pakistan. She covered the investor protection points, initial steps in making an investment in the capital market in a secure fashion.
While explaining the composition of the stock exchanges, Mujahid Nadeem, head of operations also explained the participants about the role and functioning of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Central Depository Company (CDC) and National Clearing Company Limited (NCCPL) in the capital market of Pakistan.
The basic objective of this awareness session is to provide a medium for capacity building of the NAB-Investigation Officers in order to have better handling of stock exchange matters.
The Consumers Outreach Program will educate the citizens of Pakistan to have a comprehensive knowledge of the investment instruments that the capital market has to offer them.
