Hillary Clinton has signed the lease on a campaign headquarters in New York - snapping up two floors of a building promoted as "modern offices, Brooklyn cool," Politico reported Friday.
The report follows weeks of speculation that Clinton was poised to anchor her campaign in a New York borough synonymous with eye-watering gentrification and self-important hipsters.
Politico says Clinton headquarters will work from 1 Pierrepont Plaza in Brooklyn Heights, an ultra fancy neighbourhood with stunning views to Manhattan and packed with brownstone homes.
The 19-story building with 24-hour security advertises itself as "modern, cool and smart," and is close to two dozen bus and subway lines, the Long Island Railroad and the expressway.
Clinton's neighbours in the building will be investment firm Morgan Stanley and the US attorney for the eastern district of New York.
Local amenities include Starbucks, fast food chains Shake Shack and Chipotle, posh furniture store Design Within Reach and cosmetics stalwart Kiehl's.
Politico said the clock is now ticking on Clinton's announcement as election commission rules stipulate 15 days between conducting campaign activities and filing a campaign committee.
The leasing agent did not immediately respond to an AFP request for comment. Politico said a Clinton spokesman did not respond either.
