Pakistan on Saturday welcomed the understanding reached between Iran and P5+1 concerning the nuclear programme of Tehran. "Pakistan welcomes the understanding reached between the Islamic Republic of Iran and P5+1. Pakistan had consistently maintained that the Iran nuclear issue should be resolved peacefully through dialogue", Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said in a statement.
"It is our earnest hope that the parties concerned will be able to finalise the comprehensive agreement before the end of June and it's implementation will contribute to stability of the region", she added.
The tentative agreement, reached on Thursday after extensive rounds of talks in Switzerland, clears the way for a settlement to remove concerns of the West on Iran's designs about building an atomic bomb, with economic sanctions on Tehran being lifted in return.
