Jamaat-e-Islmai (JI) Chief Sirajul Haq has said that the rich are not accustomed to following the law in the country due to which it is difficult for the poor to get justice. The JI Chief visited the residence of Cavalry Ground's firing incident victim Zain Ali and expressed his condolences with the family.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that wealth driven people do not consider others as human beings and feel humiliation while staying on a red signal.
He said that justice can only prevail in the society if the nation comes out of the VIP culture.
The JI Chief termed the incident as a test for Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and the nation awaits whether he passes this test or not.
Moreover, Sirajul Haq assured the victim's family of his full cooperation in getting justice for their son.
"I am astonished that people in Lahore need armed guards. This is not the tribal areas. I think people are intoxicated with status, wealth and politics. It is this intoxication which the reason people are being targeted," Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said.
Earlier, The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) sent former state minister's son, Mustafa Kanju on eight days remand in the case of 15-year-old student's alleged killing. Mustafa Kanju was arrested on Thursday by the police and is accused of gunning down 15-year-old Zain after a road accident.
The incident took place near Cavalry Ground in Lahore Cantt, where the police said Mustafa Kanju and his guards also wounded a passer-by when he and his three guards opened fire after an accident involving his vehicle and a motorcycle.
Mustafa Kanju, the son of former state minister for foreign affairs Siddique Kanju, escaped the scene and was on the run before police arrested him from Kohra Pakka after carrying out several raids.
The weapon used in the killing was yet to be recovered - a key piece of evidence for a murder case.
