Pakistan Army grabbed the winning crown of 27th National Handball Championship held at University of Agriculture Faisalabad by outshining the Wapda with 35 against 26 points.
The championship was organized by Pakistan Handball Federation in association with Punjab Handball Association and Faisalabad Handball Association. Nine teams Police, Pakistan Army, Wapda, Pakistan Railway, Sindh, Balochistan, KPK, Punjab, and Higher Education Commission were participating in the national championship.
The final match on Sunday was played between Wapda and Pakistan Army with University of Agriculture Faisalabad's Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan as Chief Guest.
The chief guest Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan decorated the winning players with Gold Medals and handed over the winning trophy to the winning captain.
Runner-up Wapda team was awarded with Silver and Punjab with Browns medals. During the award distribution ceremony, President Pakistan Handball Federation Haji Muhammad Shafiq said that the federation hosted an IHF Trophy at University of Agriculture Faisalabad two months back that opened new sports events in the country.
International handball referee Dabeer Hussain, and Tariq Nawaz conducted the final match.
