There are not a lot of options these days for transferring a text document from a PC to a smartphone. Mostly, you have to send an email to yourself or use a fussy synchronisation programme.
Now there's Alt-C, an Android app designed to take some of the fuss out of the process. Use it to connect an Android smartphone and a Windows PC. Once that's done, it's easy to transfer text documents and links between the two.
Just mark the desired document on the computer or the phone and then press the key combination of Alt-C to effect the transfer. Shared contents are then stored in a common folder that holds the last 50 copied items. As an added bonus, setting up a user account is not required.
