Hanging of two brothers who were scheduled to be executed early Thursday morning in Central Jail Machh in Bolan district, has been stayed after the two sides struck a deal an hour before the penalty. According to the Machh jail sources, the convicts Ali Gul and his brother Mir Gul alias Meero murdered two persons-Imtiaz and Ghulam Hussain over old enmity after getting them down from a bus in August 10, 2001 in Bakhtiarabad.
Sessions court Sibbi heard a case against them with clauses of murder, attempted murder and anti-terrorism and awarded death sentence to them. However, the two sides reached a compromise which was accepted by the jail authorities, resulting in the stay of their death penalty.
