Pakistani pacer Wahab Riaz, who earned respect from cricket legends such as Brain Lara, Wasim Akram and Sachin Tendulkar in the World Cup 2015, has signed a deal with county side Surrey for its domestic Twenty20 campaign.
After this deal, Wahab will join England's out-of-favour star Kevin Pietersen at the county for a short stint before linking up with Pakistan for its series against Sri Lanka.
Wahab said, "At the moment I am having some visa issues but hopefully the same will be sorted soon. I have signed with Surrey to play a couple of Twenty20 matches."
He said his priority was to play for the national team and expressed a desire to turn up for a short stint in the Big Bash League. "If I get an offer from the Big Bash League I will surely try to avail it," Riaz said.
Wahab is part of Pakistan's squad in all three formats and is expected to lead the pace attack in the absence of the injured Mohammad Irfan in the upcoming international fixtures.
