The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has summoned the health authorities of Muzaffargarh with the record of recruitment of employees, merit lists, contingent bill, log book, stock register, list of assets, telephone bills and bank statements on April 11 (Saturday).
This action was taken on the complaint of Malik Muhammad Shafi against Executive District Officer (Health) Dr Athar Iqbal, District Health Officer Muzaffargarh Dr Wamiq, Deputy District Health Officer Dr Musa, Accountant of DHO office Ghulam Sarwar Khan Chandia, Storekeeper, Rauf Khan Chandia, Head Clerk Allah Bakhsh, Auditor of District Account Office Javaid Sarwar and a peon of EDO (H) Abdul Ghaffar.
The complainant alleged that the district health department is honey combed with many sided corruption of millions of rupees.
The complainant further alleged that a number of medical officers were recruited for different basic health units (BHUs) without any merit bypassing the procedure. The EDO (Health) showed a vacancy of medical officer in BHU Bhuttapur in the advertisement but a medical officer of BHU Budh Dr Shah Zaman was transferred to Bhuttapur unlawfully. A medical officer who was recruited for this basic health unit was forced to join duty at another place. He further alleged that Rs 5000 each were extorted by the EDO (Health) for completion of service book through his head clerk.
