Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani on Friday bestowed Tamgha-e-Shujaat on the relatives of Army Public School Peshawar's martyrs in recognition of the bravery, courage and sacrifices of their loved ones.
In a ceremony held here at Commissioner Office, the minister bestowed Tamgha-e-Shujaat upon the bereaved families of APS victims including shaheed Abdul Rasheed, Adil Ezaz, Asif Ali Sardar, Basit Ali, Shahud Alam, Hamza Ali Kakar, Sehr Afshan, Hafza and Benish Pervaiz.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for minerals Zialluah Afridi and Commissioner Peshawar Muneer Azam were also present on this occasion.
Speaking high volume of the bravery of APS students and teachers who embraced martyrdom during an attack by terrorists he said that the sacrifices of the students and teachers would always be remembered as it has not precedent in the human history. He said the whole world paid salute to the bravery, courage and resolve of APS students against terrorists and the menace of terrorism.
Ghani highly appreciated the patience and fortitude of the bereaved families and said that the sacrifices of the APS martyrs would not go in vein rather the terrorist and extremists would be wiped out from the country.
The Minister said bestowing medals upon the martyrs and naming the educational institutions after them would not bring them back but indeed would keep them alive among us; it is the least the government could have done for them, he remarked.
