Sardar Nabeel Gabol said he had premonitions about bloodshed in the electoral constituency of NA-246, which might be a base for the imposition of Governor's Rule in the province. The political heat in the constituency had already escalated enough and the temperature might be driven to a state of deadly clash with a major tragedy, he added. He expressed these views while talking to the newsmen during his visit to Lyari.
Gabol, a former Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader after leaving his party was nominated by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Husain as the party's candidate for NA-246. He won the seat with around 140,000 votes.
Later after a couple of years, he developed some issues with the MQM and was asked to submit his resignation. Though he tendered his resignation on directives of the party leadership, but he always refuted the party's claim and said he had resigned on his own.
A couple of days ago, Gabol had accused the MQM of massive rigging in general elections and said he had personally witnessed women were casting bogus votes in his favour, claiming the NA-246 constituency was ruled by the hooligans.
Gabol said none could stop him from coming back to the PPP though he had some reservations with the PPP leadership and once the reservation would be addressed, he would come back to the party. However, he said he would join only that political party, which the people of Lyari would recommend to him.
He advised the PPP leadership to avoid holding public gathering at Kakri ground as it was far located from Lyari and was within the limits of Kharadar. The PPP should rather hold the gathering either at Usman Park or any other venue that should be part of Lyari. The PPP should make a show of power inside Lyari.
Criticizing PPP lawmakers from Lyari, Gabol said they were not from PPP, but were people of gangster Uzair Balouch, who had thrown the people of Lyari into unending turmoil and lawlessness. He advised the PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to get rid of black sheep in the party.
He also criticised Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah for being idle and sluggish and said he found him taking nap and slumbering all the time.
