Apple celebrates World Emoji Day by teasing over 70 new emojis
As a part of celebrating the ‘World Emoji Day’, Apple has revealed over 70 new emojis that will be launched later this year for free.
Though the World Emoji Day is celebrated every year on July 17, Apple celebrated it early and announced yesterday more than 70 new emojis that will be available later this year in a free software update on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. The emojis include various new faces, more hair color options, superheroes, new food items and animals among several others.
Describing its emojis, Apple wrote, “The new emoji designs, created based on approved characters in Unicode 11.0, include even more hair options to better represent people with red hair, gray hair and curly hair, a new emoji for bald people, and new smiley faces that bring more expression to Messages with a cold face, party face, pleading face and a face with hearts”.

Apple informed that it will grow the list of animals represented on the emoji keyboard. It has included emoji options for parrot, kangaroo, lobster and peacock. Along with the animals, the food emojis are getting updated as well with emojis for lettuce, mango, moon cake, cupcake and many others.
Apple continued that it has also integrated other characters too across the sections of symbols, sports and more, which include ‘a new superhero emoji, a softball, nazar amulet and infinity symbol’.
Moreover, Apple also as a part of the celebration, Apple put a new emoji face on its executive team using the company’s Memoji feature.
