Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said on Sunday that April 12 was the last day for biometric verification of mobile SIMs. In a statement issued in Islamabad, Chairman PTA Ismail Shah said the deadline for biometric verification will not be extended anymore.
He said blocked SIMs will be reactivated upon verification even after today's deadline. The chairman said data of verified SIMs would be available with NADRA, adding that about 15 million SIMs have yet to be verified. Ismail Shah lauded the co-operation of the people and the mobile companies for verification of SIMs.-PR
