Provincial Minister for Food and Chairman Cabinet Price Control Committee Bilal Yasin has said that government is aware of problems of the common man. He said that continuous relief is being provided to the people through a comprehensive mechanism under which prices of edible items have reduced considerably.
He expressed these views while talking to consumers during his surprise visit to Shadman Sunday Bazaar. TMO Data Gunj Bakhsh Town Zubair Wattoo and market committee team also accompanied the minister. The minister inspected cleanliness and security matters in Sunday Bazaar and directed that besides provision of cheap and quality daily use commodities to the consumers in Sunday bazaars, elderly citizens and handicap persons should also be facilitated. Besides making arrangements of security at parking, provision of potable water should also be ensured for the masses, he added.
Bilal Yasin while talking to consumers inquired about provision of daily use items at cheaper rates, who replied that due to government measures, prices of edible items have never reduced to such an extent as have been decreased during the tenure of PML-N government. The Minister also reviewed implementation on prices of oil and ghee in Sunday bazaars and expressed satisfaction that ghee and oil were being sold at fixed rates.
Bilal Yasin directed district administration to ensure sale of daily use items according to the mechanism evolved by the government. He said that people should inform government representatives about hoarders and profiteers so that immediate action could be taken against them.
