Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong met Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Sunday and discussed preparations for the forthcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Pakistan. The Chinese envoy appreciated the establishment of special committee by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to look after arrangements of the visit. He said this step demonstrated the level of importance that the government attached to this visit and hoped that under the guidance of the Finance Minister the committee would be able to contribute its best in arranging all events.
The Finance Minister said that the whole Pakistani nation look forward to receiving the great Chinese leader and this visit would serve as a new milestone in Pak-China relationship. The Minister on the occasion apprised the Chinese ambassador about the resolution on Yemen passed by the National Assembly, which also carried special gratitude to China for helping out Pakistanis stranded in Yemen.
Sun Weidong thanked the Pakistan government on this gesture and added that China was also grateful to Pakistan for evacuating Chinese students from the war affected areas in Yemen.-PR
