BISP Secretary dissatisfied over payment arrangement: Sukkur and Larkana offices visited

Shabir Ahmed, Secretary, Benazir Income Support Programme along with Director General BISP Sindh Zafarullah Khan Soomro conducted a surprise visit of its offices located in Sukkur and Larkana divisions on Monday, says a statement issued by the headquarters.
During the visit, he showed his dissatisfaction over the arrangement at payment centre, being operated by franchisees of HBL. He was annoyed to see that payment to poor beneficiaries did not start till 10.30am on one reason or the other.
While sitting in the payment tents he talked to bank as well as NADRA authorities and managed resumption of the payment to the poor beneficiaries through biometric verification system. On pointing out by the beneficiaries doubts two women and two security guards were handed over to police.
While visiting the Larkana Office, the Secretary showed his displeasure to the staff working there and ordered suspension of the Assistant Director Tehsil Larkana (Ghulam Rasool Jalbani) for his inefficiency and lack of interest in official work.
The Secretary also expressed his displeasure on the performance of the supervisory officers and gave them one week to improve; otherwise no one will be spared.-PR
