A full court comprising 17 judges will take up on April 16 (today) identical pleas filed against military courts established through the 21st Constitutional Amendment.
The full court led by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk will also comprise Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, Justice Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman, Justice Mushir Alam, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Maqbool Baqar.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) challenged the first verdict of the military courts, sentencing six militants to death. Filing a three-page application, the counsel for the SCBA, Asma Jehangir, requested the court to grant stay order regarding the execution of six convicted persons.
