The Sindh Home Department on Wednesday issued a notification constituting a Joint Interrogation Team (JIT) to probe Muazzam Ali in the Imran Farooq murder case. The investigation team comprising the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the Military Intelligence (MI) and Pakistan Rangers officials will be headed by FIA official Ashfaq Alam.
According to the notification, the JIT is tasked with investigating the matter in seven days and file report to the Home Department within two days of completion of the report.
Muazzam Ali, one of the key suspects in the 2010 murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Imran Farooq, was arrested by the Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, three days ago from Azizabad in Karachi.
