The Lahore High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition against a government decision to close markets and shops at 8pm to conserve electricity in summer. The court ruled that the petition was un-maintainable since it is a policy matter and the court could never interfere in it.
The Lahore Anjuman Tajran had appealed against the closure, arguing that economic activities would be hampered and spark more unemployment.
