Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam senior leader and former deputy premier Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said the hopes of an entire nation were linked with the Judicial Commission and hopefully facts about the 2013 elections would come before the people. His comments came while talking to reporters after Hamza Nasir Iqbal, son of former member of the National Assembly, from Mandi Bahauddin, Chaudhry Nasir Iqbal, joined the party with his supporters at the Muslim League House on Thursday.
He said all parties had said in the 2013 elections rigging was committed and they all had deposited evidence of rigging with the Judicial Commission, "it would be known now as to who committed the rigging and how the mandate was stolen. "The PML will be represented by Dr Khalid Ranjha, we have collected evidence and all parties except that the Nawaz-League is going to the Judicial Commission," he added.
He went on to say the N-League had no foreign policy if Saudi Arabia were only to be given assurances then why was so big session of the Parliament was convened, what had been gained out of hurling turbans in the chowk, Saudi Arabia was the country which had always supported Pakistan in every difficult time, whether it be wars with India, earthquake or flood, thousands of Pakistanis are earning their living there.
He said Nawaz Sharif, who claimed that Pakistan would stand shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia, was now trying to explain to Saudi and United Arab Emirates officials that they had been unable to understand the resolution if the United Arab Emirates minister taking pride in Pakistan had expressed his anger then the response given by the Pakistan government was enough to speak for their wisdom and diplomatic norms.
In response to a question about returning officers, he said Iftikhar Chaudhry had no business to address them as the chief justice, we had been asking him that he has to give us honest people, the then President had been saying that rigging in the election was committed because of the ROs and the chief justice was distributing shields among the ROs, he was the mastermind of rigging, "we have presented entire evidence before the Judicial Commission."
In response to another quizz, he said the matter of resignations of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf parliamentarians had finished when Ishaq Dar and the Nawaz-League people pleaded to them and brought them back in the assemblies and then Khawaja Asif paid them "tributes" on this Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan rightly said they were "the elephant of Porus."
Those also present on the occasion were Chaudhry Mohammad Ashraf Mithu, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin Khan, Mian Imran Masood, Shahid Manzur Gill, Khurrum Munawar Manj, Khadeeja Farooqui, Amna Ulfat and Syeda Majida Zaidi.
