President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday called for handing over the primary schooling to women in order to bring an overall improvement in country's education sector.
Addressing the 11th convocation of Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology here, he said the step would be significant in mainstreaming the women that comprise more than half of country's population.
The President said women were naturally good at imparting education to students with kindness and affection, thus help groom a quality future generation.
He said inclusion of women in the workforce would also contribute in rapid national progress.
President Mamnoon said due to construction of Pakistan China Economic Corridor (PCEC), the whole country, particularly the province of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, would reap its benefits.
He said PCEC would not only help boost national economy but would also bring a whole new world of opportunities for the entire region.
The President advised the students to work hard for getting education and learning technical skills in order to exploit the opportunities, offered by the Economic Corridor. He also stressed for rejecting speculations in this regard.
He said 15 projects of power generation were under construction, and about 18,000 mega watt electricity was expected to be added to national grid by 2018.
He said those projects did not belong to any political party or group, but were of national importance.
The President said corruption had badly impacted the social fabric of society and added that he was personally promoting a fight against it.
He said the country would not progress till elimination of corruption and stressed for discouraging corrupt elements in society.
President Mamnoon said there was a need to promote educational facilities in Fata so as to encourage the students of far-flung areas to get education.
He called upon the universities to formulate a comprehensive policy for promotion of education in Fata.
He also emphasised the need for quality upbringing besides formal education and said parents and teachers should work hard for upbringing of students.
He urged the girl students to never compromise on their Muslim and Pakistani identity. He also advised for giving respect to teachers to ensure success in all aspects of life.
The President gave away degrees to the students who had got distinctions in different disciplines.
