Pakistan on Saturday strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, and also offered its help to the Afghan government to successfully fight terrorism. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, while condemning the terrorist attack, said that Pakistan would be happy to provide any assistance to Afghanistan to successfully fight terrorism.
Extending condolences on this tragic incident, he said terrorism is a common enemy of both the countries which are now taking joint steps to eradicate this menace. "Such acts of violence would not weaken our resolve to take action against them till the last of terrorists and their supporters are eliminated," his media office quoted the Prime Minister as having said.
The Prime Minister also stated that terrorism would soon be wiped out of this region, ushering in an era of peace, stability and prosperity to the immense benefit of the people living here. He said Pakistan targeted these terrorists in their hideouts and dismantled their networks with effective strategy.
"Pakistan condemns the deadly terrorist attack in Jalalabad in which many precious lives were lost and a large number were injured," said Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam, adding such cowardly and indiscriminate attacks against civilians have no justification under any circumstances.
"We send our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims and pray for speedy recovery of the injured," she added. A suicide bomber on Saturday morning targeted Afghans outside a bank in Jalalabad, the provincial capital of the Nangarhar province, killing at least 33 people and injuring more than 100 others, mostly the government employees. The terrorist organisation, ISIL, has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
