ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia's Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Aziz said on Monday that a resolution adopted by the joint sitting of the parliament on Yemen is Pakistan's internal matter and the kingdom respects its decision.
Talking to media persons after meeting with Minister of State for Religious Affairs Pir Aminul Hasanaat, the visiting Saudi Religious Affairs Minister said that both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan enjoy brotherly relations, which are gaining strength with the passage of time.
He said bilateral relations would further enhance with his visit to Pakistan. Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Aziz reached Islamabad on Sunday to hold talks with Pakistani leadership. He is expected to deliver a special message from Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz al Saud to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
To a question about the Saudi Arabia's stance on the resolution unanimously adopted by the joint sitting of the parliament, he said that Saudi Arabia respects the decision of the parliament of Pakistan. "Every country is independent in taking decisions," he said, adding he was confident that Pakistan stood by Saudi Arabia and would continue to support the kingdom.
Earlier, Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Aziz held a meeting with Jamiat Uleme-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence. Responding to another question about his meeting with JUI-F chief, the Saudi Minister for Religious Affairs described it as a 'routine' meeting, adding they have great regard for the Ulema of Pakistan.
