Former Secretary Election Commission Kanwar Dilshad has said that members of the Election Commission of Pakistan should resign from their positions before appearing before the Judicial Commission investigating the alleged rigging in 2013 elections. In an interview, Kanwar Dilshad said information coming from different quarters so far indicate that the election commission role was a failure in the elections.
He said he has submitted an application to the Judicial Commission to make submissions according to his past experience.
He said the four members of the election commission were appointed in violation of Article 213 of the constitution. He said in this connection, former chief justice rejected the view point of a political party while Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry did not get the apex court's verdict implemented.
Kanwar Dilshad said that former Justice Fakhruddin G Ibrahim should appear before the commission and disclosed the names of players who put his reputation at stake.
