Seven minors of a family were killed and their parents and two siblings sustained injuries when a truck rammed into their one-room house near Protective Dike by-pass in Muhallah Pindi area of Jhang on early Thursday morning. According to police and Rescue sources, a truck loaded with vegetables went out of control and rammed into the house of Rizwan where 11 members of the family were sleeping. As a result, the one-room house turned into rubble and seven minor siblings were killed.
Labourer Rizwan, his wife Sardaran and two children were rescued under the debris of the house by the rescue teams and residents of the area. The dead bodies and injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital. The deceased were identified as 6-year-old Abdur Rehman, 3-year-old Maafia, 11-year-old Rabia, 8-year-old Musarat, 5-year-old Farhat, 14-year-old Imran, 12-year-old Nadia while Rehman, 3-year-old and 2-year-old Zareena were injured. Police have taken truck driver and two others into custody.
