ANF in its drive against drug trafficking conducted seven operations at different parts of the country, which resulted in recovery of 1038kg heroin, 1486kg charas and 1kg Ice (Amphetamine). ANF also arrested five drug traffickers and seized 3 vehicles during these operations. The value of seized drugs approximately amounts to Rs 10.21 billion. Most of the seized drugs were destined abroad.
ANF Quetta carried out a successful intelligence led operation and seized 1.038 ton heroin from desolate area of Maham Dara, Kili Sardar Kamal, Tehsil Bashore, District Pashin. According to details, heroin was packed in plastic bags and was buried at a hidden site situated in the cuttings of mountainous terrain, far away from the populated area. As per initial information, the drug was placed at a cache site for handing over to some other narcotics gang. On receipt of safe signal, it was to be shifted to some safe location at coastal belt, and later on, it was to be smuggled abroad via sea.
ANF Quetta on a tip-off seized a truck No TKJ-301 at Karachi-Quetta Road and recovered 1.364-ton charas during search of the vehicle. However, the accused on board managed to flee from the scene taking advantage of the darkness. The truck was loaded with bricks and drug was tactfully concealed under the layer of bricks. As per preliminary information, charas was being transported to Karachi for onward smuggling to some foreign location across the sea.
ANF Rawalpindi Airport team in collaboration with ASF intercepted a suspected passenger Iqbal Hussain Shah, resident of Sargodha and recovered 600 Grams Ice (Amphetamine) concealed in his wearing garments. The accused intended to proceed to Jeddah via Masqat by Oman Air Flight No WY-348. ANF Lahore Road Check Team during routine checking apprehended a motorcyclist namely Arsalan Zia, resident of Faisalabad and recovered 1.2 Kg Charas from his personal possession. The accused was arrested near Company Bagh Chowk, Old Landa Bazaar Road, Faisalabad while travelling on motor cycle No FWD-7785. As per reports, the accused is involved in peddling of drugs at local level.
ANF Lahore Road Check team in an information based operation intercepted a double cabin pick-up at a Road check set-up near Haroon Express Bus stand, Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore. During search of the vehicle 120kg Charas was recovered from improvised cavities of the vehicle. An occupant of the vehicle namely Shahid Ali, a resident of Khyber Agency was taken into custody.
ANF Karachi Airport team on pursuance of an intelligence report apprehended Muhammad Khan a resident of Sargodha at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi and recovered 400gram Ice (Amphetamine) concealed in empty pack of shaving cream. The accused was boarding for Jeddah via Dubai by Emirates Airline Flight No EK-603. ANF Karachi during an operation at Shah Latif Town, Malir, Karachi, arrested a local drug supplier namely Sheryar Khan, resident of Swabi and recovered 1.2 Kgs Charas from his personal possession. Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.-PR
