On the occasion of World Book Day, Dawood Public School organized a special book fair to promote culture of book reading among students. On the occasion Huma Thaver, Principal A Levels Dawood Public School said that the culture of book reading is being increased in schools and society despite technological advancement and business lives which is evident the growing number of books fairs and participation of students and book lovers in major cities.
In Karachi, there are 10 International Book Fairs were held at Expo, six Karachi Literature Festivals were held and 12 Children Literature Festivals held so far. Besides, there are different organisations and associations hold book fairs to promote habits of book reading among masses. Thousands of people do visit these fairs and purchase books that refer that society still contain a healthy habit of reading books with improving culture.
She said that during the Book Fair students do not only purchase books for their own benefits but they also give books as gift to their classmates. This activity actually develops an association of students with books which is indispensable for success of their education goals, she added.-PR
