Moong prices fell sharply on the wholesale grain market on Saturday but on the other hand, the rates of Gur posted fresh gain due to strong demand from buyers, dealers said. On the cereals side, Moong Punjab drifted lower by Rs 500 to Rs 11750, in sympathy, Moong Afghan shed Rs 125 to Rs 12750, Gur low type was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 6200 and the best quality was up by Rs 400 to Rs 7000, Khandsari gained sharply by Rs 500 to Rs 7500, wheat Bardan new rose by Rs 10 to Rs 2960, Guwar Sindh went up sharply by Rs 500 to Rs 5700 and Rs 5800 and Guwar Punjab also picked up the same amount to Rs 5200 and Rs 5400, they said.
On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low quality was unchanged at Rs 1650 and best type was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 1700, other items maintained overnight levels in the process of trading, they said. Prices were unchanged on the grams and rice sectors, they said.
