Samsung Galaxy S10 might be its first to feature 5G

Galaxy S10, which is expected to release next year, is now set to be the first Samsung phone to contain 5G with ultra-powerful chip.

Samsung announced that it has successfully created the industry’s first 8GB chip allowing 5G connectivity, AI-powered mobile apps, and will be the fastest smartphone in the market. The new ultra-powerful chip is expected to be featured in the upcoming Galaxy S10, making it the first 5G Samsung mobile.

Talking about the company’s 5G compatible phone, Samsung’s senior vice president Jinman Han said, “This development of 8GB LPDDR5 represents a major step forward for low-power mobile memory solutions. We will continue to expand our next-generation 10nm-class DRAM lineup as we accelerate the move toward greater use of premium memory across the global landscape.”

Though the company did not name the phone, it disclosed that the new device will be able to transfer 51GB data per second – around 14 full HD video files. Samsung Galaxy S9, in comparison has 4GB RAM whereas, Apple’s iPhone X has 3GB RAM, OnePlus 6, however, is the only phone with 8GB RAM, reported Independent.

Moreover, the phone is also rumored to contain in-display fingerprint sensor, facial recognition instead of the iris scanner and will come in three sizes almost similar to Apple’s next iPhone series, wrote Phone World. As of for now, all eyes are on Samsung’s August 9 ‘Unpack’ event where the South Korean tech giant will reveal its next Galaxy Note 9.
