ANF in five country-wide operations against drug trafficking recovered 505 Kg Charas, 900 gram Ice (Amphetamine) and 70 Kg poppy nectar. Operations were conducted at Islamabad, Jhelum, Chaghi and Loralai. ANF also arrested six persons involved in drug smuggling and seized two vehicles.
ANF Quetta carried out a successful intelligence based operation and seized 500kg Charas from desolate area of Killi Kurnak, Chattar, Tehsil Dalbandin, District Chaghi. According to details, Charas was packed in plastic bags and was buried at a hidden site situated in the cuttings of mountainous terrain outside the populated area. As per initial information, drug consignment was placed at a cache site for handing over to some other narcotics gang. On receipt of safe signal, the drug was transported to some safe location at coastal belt for onward smuggling abroad via sea route.
ANF Quetta in an information based operation intercepted a suspected car in District Loralai. On search of the car, 70kg fresh poppy straw was discovered from the car. Three persons, all residents of District Pishin, on board were taken into custody. During the operation, a 12-bore rifle and a 30-bore pistol along with 61 rounds were also seized.
ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team during routine surveillance at Benazir International Airport, Islamabad, detained two residents of Khushab including Muhammad Imran and his wife namely Uzma on suspicion of carrying drugs. On search of their luggage, 900 Gram Ice (Amphetamine) was recovered. The accused also accompanied two kids. They were boarding for Jeddah via Dubai by Emirates Airline Flight No EK-615.
ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team on information intercepted a motorcyclist namely Liaqat Ali, resident of Gujrat near Mangla Bypass, Jhelum and recovered 5kg Charas from his personal possession. As per reports, the accused is involved in supply of drugs at local level.-PR
