A meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) was held under the Chairmanship of Dr Hammad Owais Agha the Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Civil Secretariat Peshawar on Thursday. The meeting was attended by its members and respective administrative Secretaries. The forum considered 14 projects pertaining to Higher Education, Elementary & Secondary Education, Public Health Engineering, Communications & Works, Local Government and Social Welfare Departments for the uplift of the province.
The forum approved 11 Projects having 20 sub-components with an estimated cost of Rs 9941.777 million. 3 projects were deferred due to inadequate project designs. The meeting approved Higher Education Sector project on "Establishment of Home Economics College Nowshera". Similarly, in the Elementary & Secondary Education Sector project pertaining to "Maintenance of playgrounds of 111 HSS in KP" was granted approval.
The project "Construction/Rehabilitation of Water Supply and Sanitation Schemes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa" was approved in the DWSS Sector. The approved project in the Roads sector was "F/S, Design & Construction of a) Qalagy Road UC Qalagy, b) Tall Chor Road UC Tall, c) Taran Road UC Kaley & d) Talang Churkhai Road UC Kota, Swat (5 KM)". However, in the Urban Development sector 6 projects were deliberated upon and approved, "Designing and Construction of Flyover at Phase-III Entry, Hayatabad, Jamrud Road, Peshawar, Up gradation & Remodelling of Northern section of Ring Road from Charsadda Road to GT road Peshawar, Uplift & Beautification at Bannu, Uplift & Beautification at Mardan, Uplift & Beautification at Kohat, Uplift & Beautification at Mingora, Swat". The only project approved in the Research & Development sector was "Provision for contractor's accrued liabilities and uncashed cheques.
