Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Friday clarified that party chief Altaf Hussain did not criticise the Army during his overnight speech. The MQM said Altaf Hussain praised Army Chief Raheel Sharif during his speech and urged him to provide justice to MQM. In a statement issued here form Karachi and London, MQM Rabita Committee said that Altaf Hussain did not even criticise the arrest of criminals.
It said that the MQM chief had said he was playing a role against growing sectarianism. "If any party worker or even my brother is involved, they should be hanged," the Rabita Committee quoted Altaf Hussain as saying. The statement further said that Altaf Hussain had praised the Army and its chief General Raheel Sharif, adding that he had presented a salute to officers and martyrs of the Army during the 'million march'. MQM chief had also asked party workers on several occasions to help the Pakistan Army, the statement said.
