China-Pakistan Economic Corridor: JI asks government to take people into confidence
Jamaat-i-Islami chief, Siraj-ul-Haq has expressed the hope that federal government will take people into confidence regarding China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and will not make this mega project of national progress and development controversial.
Addressing a public meeting regarding by-election on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly constituency PK-95 (Jandul) District Dir Lower, he said that federal government should explained that where these economic zones are being established.
The seat has fallen vacant after the election of JI chief Siraj-ul-Haq as Senator. The JI candidate, Aizazul Mulk Afkari and MNA Sahibzada Mohammad Yaqub also addressed the public meeting.
He said that in larger national interest the government should arrange national consultations, saying that keeping the nation in dark will increase reservations and doubts of the people, which is not only harmful for the project, but also for national integrity.
The JI chief said that CPEC should not be made controversial like Kalabagh Dam and Malakand and Chitral should also be included in the project.
Siraj-ul-Haq said that they are struggling for the supremacy of constitution, law and merit in the country, saying that the conditions of Pakistan will not be changed with the rule of an individual or political party, rather it will be changed with the enforcement of Quran and Sunnah based system in the country.
He said that those remained in power have done nothing except increasing difficulties and problems. He said that for the last 68 years a specific class of society has remained in power, which considers general public like insects. He held the same class responsible for the deprivation of the people from even basic requirements like roti, kapra and roof on their heads.
He said that the cries of poor and helpless people have no impact on the blind and dumb rulers sitting in Islamabad and people have to only pay taxes and cast votes. Poverty, price-hike, unemployment and lawlessness have made the lives of the people miserable.
He said that JI has come out in field to root out cruel and exploitative system and provide the facilities of education, health and employment to general public. The JI chief was confident that the electorates of the PK-95 on May 7, 2015 will once again stamp on the election symbol to express confidence in their party.
