Punjab University Vice Chancellor Professor (Dr) Mujahid Kamran said that Maulana Altaf Hussain Hali and Shibli Naumani were the big names of Urdu literature and their teachings and thoughts must be promoted among the young generation. He was addressing a seminar organized by PU Department of Urdu at Sherani Hall here on Wednesday.
Renowned intellectual Intzaar Hussain, Professor Dr Khawaja Muhammad Zakria Dean Oriental Learning Professor (Dr) Ismatullah Zahid, Chairman Department of Urdu Dr Muhammad Kamran, faculty members and a large number of renowned writers and students were present on the occasion. Dr Kamran said people learnt a lot from the activities of the Oriental College and the presence of Intzaar Hussain in the seminar was a source of honour. Intellectual Hussain said Maulana Hali and Naumani had laid a foundation stone of critique in the Urdu literature and it was their great services for development of the Urdu literature.
