Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said that the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) in its report had mentioned that no rigging was committed in NA 122 in general election 2013. Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders were in the habit of telling lies and misleading the people, he said in a statement. He said the PTI leaders should better read NADRA's report carefully as it clearly mentioned that no rigging was done in NA 122.
Out of 18,000, only 500 votes, including duplicates, were found invalid while counter-foil issues were procedural irregularities, he added. Pervaiz Rashid said thumb impressions of 73,478 voters with good quality ink, were visible and verified with valid Computerised National Identity Cards.
He said in the recent bye-election of a Karachi constituency, PTI activists were found rigging, who were punished on the spot. Meanwhile in a press conference in Gujranwala, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Daniyal Aziz on Saturday said that the stance of Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has been defeated. He said that the PTI was trying to create anarchy in the country. "No rigging has been proved in NA-122 and NA-270," he said.
Daniyal Aziz said that Imran Khan's fake bubble has been burst. He said that the PTI was defeated throughout the country. In Sialkot, PTI leader Usman Dar was fined by the court. "Imran has been lying since Day-1," he said. "The PTI continuously blamed former Chief Minister Punjab Najam Sethi of having applied '35 punctures' during the elections and claimed to have possessed some audio tape as well. Forget the audio tape, they did not even mention Najam Sethi's name in the document submitted by them before the judicial commission," he said.
Aziz said that since Imran Khan doesn't have his container anymore, he is now trying to use the Supreme Court as a container. Senior law expert Zahid Hamid quoted NADRA report on this occasion, "There were 93,852 counterfoils that NADRA could not process through AFIS because of poor quality of fingerprints of the voters affixed on them. "However, CNIC number mentioned on such counterfoils having poor quality thumb impressions were valid CNICs". He said that the fact that all the CNIC numbers had been declared valid proved that the only problem was the improper ink used during the election.
