The Government of Sindh on Wednesday announced a day of mourning on May 14 (today) following the bus shooting incident near Safoora Chowrangi in Gulistan-e-Johar killing at least 44 while injuring several passengers. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has also appealed the traders, schools' administrations, transporters and industrialists to shut down their activities on May 14 to mourn the gory incident.
Different political parties including Awami National Party (ANP) have also announced to observe a-day of mourning today. Atiq Mir, Chairman Karachi Tajir Ittihad and Transport Itttihad have also announced their support the today's mourning announced by the Sindh government. The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) Bar Association Senior Vice President Shabir Awan, Sindh High Court (SHC) Bar Association President Abid Zubairi and Malir Bar Association have called a strike on Thursday.
