Dr Inayat Hussain Kathio, a world renowned US based Pakistani veterinarian has visited Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, the University of Agriculture Peshawar (UAP), here on Thursday. The Dean Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences (FAH&VS), Professor Dr Muhammad Subhan Qureshi welcomed him. Dr Kathio delivered a lecture on the use of nanotechnology for early diagnosis of mastitis. He also gave presentation on surgical management of various problems in gastrointestinal tract of dogs. The gathering was attended by UAP Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Naeem, chairmen of various departments, faculty members and students.
Dr Kathio showed willingness to attend the third international workshop on Dairy Science Park due to be held from November 16 to 18, 2015. He appreciated the applied research and industrial linkages of the faculty, especially the establishment of model slaughter house with local government department at Ring Road Peshawar and the meat technology centre at the university. He also praised the university's effort to provide human resource development support to butchers and development of standards for the farms, clinics and service providers.
