Affectees asked to submit claims: two directors, agent of Sunland Crops Care held in Modarba scam
National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Karachi on Friday claimed to have arrested two directors and an agent of Sunland Crops Care (Pvt) Limited in a multi-million Modarba scam. According to NAB, two directors namely Ehsan Shah Shirazi and Syed Azhar Hussain Shirazi and their agent Shah Abdul Qadir of Sunland Crops Care (Pvt) Limited were arrested from a hidden room located in the basement of their residence.
The arrested directors are involved in collecting millions of rupees from general people in the name of investments in Modarba business. The modus operandi of detained persons for committing fraud was they offer attractive monthly profit against the investments in Riba free business -Modarba. NAB confirmed that these alleged persons paid profits to their investors for few months and then they disappeared and did not respond to any of their client. NAB further apprised that these accused persons had neither returned principal amount to the clients nor paid profits after few months, raising disenchantment among the investors and added that they had collected billions in the name of Sunland Crops Care (Pvt) Limited - Modarba. Consequent upon the arrests of these persons, NAB has now requested all the affectees alleged company namely Sunland Crops Care (Pvt) Limited to submit their claims at NAB, Karachi for further action.
