Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Zone Dr Jameel Ahmed has said that co-ordination between police and traders will help in providing security to markets and shopping centres on modern and scientific basis. He was talking to a 15-member traders' delegation that led by the All Karachi Tajir Ittehad president Atiq Mir called on him at his office, a handout issued here on Sunday said.
Dr Jameel said this co-ordination would also help to protect market places against criminals and extortionists in an effective manner. Atiq Mir drew the DIG's attention towards security for markets and shopkeepers during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. The DIG said special security plans are being formulated to provide security to markets.
