Developing research groups, clusters: HEC to support PAEC through universities

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) will extend all out support to the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) through universities to develop research groups and clusters in various sectors, said Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC during his meeting with Mohammad Naeem, Chairman PAEC during the latter's visit to the HEC Secretariat on Monday.
The core purpose of the meeting was to join hands to develop R & D priorities at national level and to build synergy between the two apex organizations in the country. Dr Mukhtar Ahmed shared HEC's significant investments towards developing institutional facilities, introduction of new disciplines in market based technologies, development of human resource including faculty, improvement in research facilities and various linkages with local and foreign universities. He also dwelt on HEC's activities for capacity building of researchers and support to universities in promotion of research as well as commercialization of research.-PR
