President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus will arrive on Tuesday on a two-day official visit to Pakistan, Foreign Office said. "President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus is visiting Islamabad on May 26-27 at the invitation of the President of Pakistan. This will be the first-ever visit by a Belarusian President to Pakistan," said Qazi Khalilullah, spokesperson for the Foreign Office.
The President of Belarus is leading a high-powered delegation. A strong business delegation will precede the Presidential entourage for the first Pakistan Belarus Business and Investment Forum that will be held on 25th May, he added. During the course of the State visit, the spokesperson said that the Belarusian President will be hosted to a banquet by the President.
He said that President Alexander Lukashenko will have official talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who will also host a lunch in honour of the visiting dignitary. A number of important agreements/MoUs are expected to be signed, he added. "Pakistan and Belarus enjoy cordial relations and President Lukashenko's visit will help in strengthening the exiting ties between the two countries," Khalilullah added. Belarus established its resident mission in Islamabad in November 2014.
