The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade have welcomed the Baroness Mobarik CBE, House of Lords from Britain at the Lahore office. Chief executive Officer and for Renoir Global (Pvt) Ltd Chairman Umer Faruqi accompanied the baroness. The visit reflected the willingness of British companies to invest in the Punjab. The discussion was mainly focused in particular on the opportunities to invest in the Punjab by these Companies and the board's role. The discussion also covered investment opportunities in the sectors such as energy, infrastructure and education.
The baroness suggested that there was a need to market investment opportunities in Pakistan and in Britain since both had close ties with each other. She also said small-medium enterprises should also be encouraged to invest in the Punjab. In addition, an informal discussion on the role of PBIT in facilitating the potential and existing investors took place. Board Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Ilyas Ghauri shared information about the road show being planned for Britain by the board and the Pakistan Overseas Commission.
