A minor girl was strangled to death after being raped by unidentified persons in the Sirikort area of Haripur, police officials said on Saturday. After an autopsy was conducted, doctors confirmed that the eight-year-old girl, whose identity has not been ascertained as yet, was sexually assaulted. The girl's body was dumped in a roadside ravine after the brutal act.
DSP Ghazi Hakim Khan said that a passer-by spotted a sack in a roadside gorge near the Sirikot bypass informed the police. After the body was recovered by the police, it was shifted to the hospital where Dr Fauzia confirmed that the girl was about eight-years-old and was a student of a private school.
