South Korea's Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp has purchased at least 36,000 tonnes of rice to be sourced from the United States and China in an international tender on Thursday, European traders said on Friday. The purchase included about 17,000 tonnes of Chinese rice purchased at $890.00 a tonne, they said. A further 19,000 tonnes of US-origin rice was purchased at $831.17 to $836.07 a tonne, they said. It is possible the total purchase in the tender could be above 36,000 tonnes, traders said. The tender had sought October/November arrival.
