This was stated by KP-BoIT vice-chairman Senator Mohsin Aziz in a statement on Tuesday. He said that the project was being initiated in collaboration with the provincial agriculture department.
He further said that the proposed/identified land would be provided to investors for a period of 30 years on lease, extendable for further period for initiation of the project. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was blessed with high quality date producing areas. Regarding the significance of the project, Aziz said the board was providing facilitation services under one-window operation to local as well as foreign investors.
He said the establishment of the processing unit was one of the steps towards modernisation of agriculture sector in the province. The board's vice-chairman expressed the hope that the project would not only provide modern processing facility to date farmers, but would also reduce post harvesting losses.
